![]() Faber-Castell was founded more than 240 years ago in Germany as a pencil manufacturer. Today Faber-Castell is world-renowned for its high quality, professional art supplies and for providing safe, creative experiences for children around the world. Social and environmental issues are of great importance to Faber-Castell. Clear examples of this include their signing of a voluntary social charter within the Faber-Castell group, a commitment to reforestation in Brazil, and a CARE (Caring, Aware, Responsible, Ethical) certification of our partner factory in China by the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI). Additionally, Faber-Castell’s product safety mission involves more than just product testing. It begins with their team of experts in product design and development and continues with their quality assurance team, long time production partners, and consumer service specialists. Third party audits and testing of products and factories further strengthen this process. Factory and production team on-site factory visits take place quarterly. Faber-Castell tests the individual components in our products, many of which are used across multiple kits, to ensure that they meet or exceed all US safety standards including those for lead and magnets. The toy industry goes to great lengths to develop and monitor rigorous testing and inspection procedures ensuring that toys are safe. For more specific information on toy safety please visit the Toy Industry Association website at www.toyinfo.org and www.toy-tia.org.
